Longstore Procedure DS3 / DS4 

 

When preparing a water-based printer for long-term storage, it is essential to follow a complete cleaning process using both DS3 cleaning and CR02 cleaning solutions. Skipping the CR02 cleaning step may result in the print heads drying out, which can cause permanent damage.

 

 

Required Tools and Materials

To perform this procedure, you will need the following:

  • 1x DS3-CL1000E
    Allround HC Sublimation Ink Daily Maintenance Liquid / Cleaner – 1000 ml bottle

  • 1x RJ80CR02-1000
    CR02 Liquid – 1000 cc bottle, used for pre-wash and long-term storage of water-based printers

  • 1x IJ-INKTBCN4-01
    Ink Tube Connectors (4 pcs) – Required for connecting cleaning liquid bottles to the printer's ink system

Step-by-Step Procedure

1. Initial Setup and Preparation

  • Send us an MPI file. Once received, we will provide a ULK file to unchip the printer.
    Note: This process must be executed using the MSA.

  • Start the printer in Board Manager Mode and load the provided ULK file.

  • Then, reboot the printer in Diagnostic Mode (technician access).

2. Nozzle Check and Initial Cleaning

  • Navigate to the Adjustment Menu and select Nozzle Check.

  • Perform a nozzle check.

    • If the results are poor, perform cleaning cycles until all nozzles are fully recovered.

3. DS3 Cleaning Procedure (Long Store)

  • Access the Adjustment Menu again and select Long Store.

  • Begin the cleaning procedure using DS3-CL1000E.

  • Use the IJ-INKTBCN4-01 connectors and tubes and insert them into the DS3 bottle.

    • Note: A slight tube length modification might be necessary, but a technician can handle this easily.

  • Continue the process until the printer displays the message:
    “Long Store Complete” – This indicates the DS3 cleaning phase is done.

4. CR02 Cleaning Procedure

  • Repeat the Long Store procedure, this time using CR02 (RJ80CR02-1000) liquid.

  • Again, proceed until the display shows:
    “Long Store Complete”

  • Once the CR02 procedure is finished, power down the machine.

5. Final MPU/ULK transaction and Shutdown

  • Start the printer again in Board Manager Mode.

  • Send us a new MPI file, and we will return a second ULK file.

  • Load the new ULK into the machine using MSA.

  • After this final step, the procedure is complete, and the printer is ready for packing and long-term storage.
