Movie: XpertJet 1641SR & 1682SR - How to do the user adjustments

Modified on Tue, 6 Dec, 2022 at 11:36 AM

After your XpjertJet machine has been installed and activated, it’s your turn as an operator to make the basic adjustments for your different profiles/media types.

This movie explains the different methods of bi-dir adjustments, the different methods of step adjustments, and it also explains how you can link the adjustments to your software profiles (how to know which dot size you are using, and which specific adjustment you need for that dot size).

Furthermore, it show some important tools, like the method to reset your printer to factory default (of course without deleting the diagnostic adjustments made by your technician), and the header dump tool, that allows you to search for the dot size + carriage velocity command, independent of the rip software that you are using.

All menu’s and printmodes that are shown in the movie are available in a separate pdf file, and all testfiles used in the movie are also in a separate subfolder. Don’t forget to check the Addendum.pdf for last minute changes!

Addendum (last minute changes)
  1. Switch off auto cleaning in the Setup Menu. For UMS and MS41 this cleaning is not needed when the printer is in normal use (no standstill for more than 1 or 2 weeks)

In the Setup menu go to
    >> Setup 15 (Auto Cleaning)
    >> Set Auto Cleaning 1 (Standby) to OFF

  2. Exhaust Fan

By default set the exhaust fan to OFF to make the machine less noisy. For higher printing volumes however ( > 3000 m²) its however advised to set the exhaust fan ON (less ink dust)

  3. Daily maintenance

When you complete the daily maintenance at the end of the day, it's better NOT to execute a cleaning again when the head is back capped-in. Because in this last phase the capping station and tubes are filled with cleaner which is better in the long run to keep the tube free of ink particles.
