Revised warranty policy on the “new generation” Mutoh spare part print heads

Dear Customer,

Due to the fact that the latest versions of Mutoh print heads are more durable compared to the previous models, we can announce that we will change the policy on our spare part head warranty for these head types.

1/ Start of warranty

Traditionally the start of the warranty period on a spare head is the date of invoice.

For below mentioned partnumbers (point 3) the warranty of the head will start on the date of installation instead of the date of invoice.

2/ Warranty period

Due to the fact that these heads are more durable we can also extend the warranty period from 6 months to 12 months.

3/ On what Mutoh printers is this valid ?

The units using following print head part-numbers will be treated under the new policy rules:

• DH-40865 (UV head, new damper type included)
• DH-40274 (solvent, waterbased version head)
• DH-40559 (XPJ-1642WR)
• DH-40694 (XPJ-1341SR-P , XPJ-1641SR-P)
• DH-41206 (XPJ-1682SR-P)

An overview of the Mutoh printers + the valid print head part-numbers are listed in “List 1”.

Beware that, to be able to accept these heads, a minimum Firmware version needs to be installed. 

(As soon as the FW becomes available for VJ-1948WX and XPJ-1682WR they will be added to this list).

4/ Start of the new policy

This new policy will be valid as of May 1^st 2022 (invoice date). 

At that time the new spare parts lists will also be released.

5/ Important !

Warranty conditions on the previous generations of Mutoh print-heads remain unchanged !

Conditions:

• Use of Mutoh original ink is mandatory.
• Periodical maintenance must be performed (can be checked in the RDI file)
• All warranty conditions as stipulated in the “Mutoh Factory warranty” sheet remain valid.
• In order to be able to inspect when a head was installed in the unit the machine must always be at least on following FW version – see list below.
• After the head was replaced always retrieve the RDI file since we will need this file for inspection. The RDI file must be retrieved from the printer in “Ready to print” mode (not Board manager mode) in order to see all loggings. 

Based on this info we can see when the head was installed. The date of the previous head replacement is the date when this spare head was installed and is - as such - the starting date of the warranty.

• Following info is mandatory when making a warranty claim on a spare head:
  1. Picture of the issue
  2. Mutoh Invoice number of this head
  3. QR code of the head
  4. Head rank number of the head
  5. RDI file retrieved after the head replacement

In case the above stipulated conditions are not met the warranty-request will become void.
