Due to a difference in dot coverage of the new “Accufine” printheads compared to the previous printhead generations, the output becomes slightly more sensitive to horizontal banding.
To improve the paper feed accuracy (and as a result reduce the horizontal banding), the tolerance in horizontal fluctuation of the grid roller can be reduced by mounting some extra spacers onto the PF motor bracket and mount a new spring on the left end of the grid roller.
When you have a XPJ-1641SR-P suffering from horizontal banding which cannot be solved by means of the regular mechanical adjustments (step adjustment, straightness of encoder disc, head adjustments) nor by using the correct print modes/profiles, then you can order such a kit free-of-charge via hardware.support@mutoh.eu.
Please let us know the serial number of your unit when requesting such a kit.
Together with the kit we will supply you with detailed installation instructions.
Important !
This procedure is valid for serial numbers until KF6U000254.
Units with serial numbers higher than 000254 have already been upgraded with this kit.
