The head soak cleaning procedure has been introduced on the XPJ units for 2 main reasons:
1/ as a pro-active measure to avoid having clogged nozzles after some time on the print head.
2/ as a curative measure to recuperate misfiring or mising nozzles (however there is no guarantee this procedure will always cure heads with missing nozzles).
Important:
For printers on MS51, requiring a weekly maintenance, it is advised to also perform this head soak procedure during the weekly maintenance sequence.
The Menu-structure and procedure can be found in attached document: CS3027-02.

Extra info:
Since the head caps need to be filled with cleaning liquid during the procedure it might be possible that some liquid is being spilled next to the cap inside the printer. In order to catch possible drips of cleaning under the caps, the Mutoh Japan factory will introduce absorbent materials under the cap(s).
These will be pro-actively installed as of following serial numbers:
- XPJ-1341SR-P: KD5U000960
- XPJ-1641SR-P: KF6U001602
- XPJ-1682SR-P: KK6U301060
For serial numbers prior to these a kit of absorbents can be requested via hardware.support@mutoh.eu
Please mention for what serial number you would need a set of absorbents.
