Bug fixes
- Print start feed problem fixed
1. Media stick prevention set to “ON”: when “roll media end” becomes active during media front feeding, the media continues to feed forward.
2. At start of print, feeding speed is too fast.
These problems are now fixed - In diagnostics mode, some unidir adjustment swaths were clipped. This problem is now fixed.
- Media end is not monitored during the printing of step adjust swaths. This problem is now fixed.
- Possible communication problems (when working with msa tool) at start-up are fixed.
- Possible printing of “#” during printing step adjust prints.
- Improved “CR maintenance” sequence.
- Diagnostic: Adjust: Slant check result value is displayed incorrectly. This problem is now fixed.
- PM command *MS command problem fixed.
- There was a problem with the [Ink near end] and [Ink end] message display. This problem is now fixed.
- Improved maximum data length.
- Extra error codes instead of ‘Not Original Ink’ error:
[S/C ink error]: wrong ink type is used
[S/C color error]: ink cartridge is inserted in the wrong slot
[S/C code error]: Not proper ink cartridge is inserted
[S/C read error]: Failed for reading the smart chip
[Broken chip]: S/C reading information is illegal (forged) - A new ink message is created: “Check Ink”. In some cases, it happens that more ink remains in the cassette then indicated by the smart chip. To allow using the cassette until it’s empty, remove the cassette and re-insert it to reset the ink detection mechanism.
- Diagnostic pre-heater temperature incorrect display => fixed
Since there are two thermistors for monitoring pre-heater temperature, two temperature values are displayed.

1.09
Changed features
- Changed sub tank filling sequence:
[Sub tank filling]
After the ink filling operation, in order to make ink of each sub tank equal, first all ink in the sub tank is discharged (sucked) by activating the ink pump (Main suction cycle*). After that, it opens 2P valve and ink will be filled in sub tank until the sub tank HIGH sensor is ON.
[Main suction cycle]
This aims to discharge ink. By using the ink pump for a long period of time, ink would be discharged (sucked).
[Small amount suction cycle]
This aims to maintain a normal head nozzle status (meniscus status). By using the ink pump for a shorter period of time than “Main suction cycle”, ink would be discharged (sucked).
[Air suction cycle]
This aims to suck ink remained on the cap. The head and cap are separated and then the ink pump rotates to suck ink.
Before this change, after performing the sub tank filling, air suction cycle started without small amount suction cycle. In another words, the nozzle status couldn't be kept normal so that after printing nozzle check pattern, several nozzles are still missing or unstable firing which led to executing the cleaning sequence.
We found that “Small amount suction cycle” was missed out during sub tank filling. From FW 1.09, this “small amount suction cycle” is added. - Changed cartridge pin detection operation during ink sequence.
When the pin is detected during ink sequence, it will give “NearEnd”, however, the pump doesn't stop. Now, for ink filling, little filling, the initial cleaning, and cleaning, before the sequence starts, it would check the pin. When the pin is detected, immediately it will give “INK END” and the suction will not start. - Ink sequence recovery processing is added.
During initial ink fill sequence, the user had to be careful not to interrupt with the sequence (cover open or empty cartridges). Now, some recovery processing is added in case these interruptions would still occur.
Bug fixes
- Origin setting value
During inputting the origin setting value (X: 00000mm Y: 0000mm), after the lever UP/DOWN, under the following two operations, it gives problems.
1. When you leave this menu by CANCEL key, and then during the media detection (or no media loaded), still it's possible to input the value. After when you leave this menu by CANCEL key, the panel hang up.
-->Now it's not possible to re-input the value and gives “function is not valid” message.
2. When you leave this menu by ENTER key, it gives “Position check -> ENTER” message at the position where CR is cap-out. - Checking the position of the PF
Via set 9: origin setting, the origin of the print can be changed. If this origin value is more than 15 meter, the feed direction becomes reverse, this is now fixed - CR maintenance
CR maintenance sequence in combination with panel up/down key: Bug fix. - Manual feed after printing a Bi-D pattern
If a media end occurs during media feed after printing a Bi-D pattern in User menu, the manual feed is not possible. This problem is now fixed. - Feeding problem
During feeding without printing, even if pressing “CANCEL” key, it won't stop until finishing feeding. This problem is now fixed - Effect overlap modification
Effect overlap modification mistake => corrected

Media feeding fine adjustment => corrected - Narrow width media
When loading a narrow width media, and the panel setting is set to Media Flush ON, the print margin at the left side (not-origin side) was bigger. This problem is now fixed. - Bi-D adjustment print
After printing a Bi-D adjustment pattern, it kept on feeding media. This problem is now solved. - Aging CR motor
In diagnostic mode, after nozzle check, when executing Aging CR motor, unexpected media feed happens. This problem is now fixed. - Media initializing
In diagnostic mode, during the media initializing, when selecting "cleaning menu", the machine freezes. This problem is now solved. - Setting the Take-up
When the take-up system is set to "enabled", and a Bi-D pattern is printed, it feeds media. This has been changed to: When setting the take-up system to “enabled” and a Bi-D pattern is printed, it doesn’t feed any media. - Head temperature
Improved monitoring of the head temperature. - Disabled ENTER key
Under the following conditions, pushing cleaning button - Enter 2 seconds - doesn't start the cleaning sequence. (after this, Enter doesn't work)
- During the mechanical initializing
- During the media initializing
- During "cover open"
- During "lever up"
When this happens, press Enter for 2 seconds to disable the cleaning. - Waste tank full
Improved “Waste tank full” sequence. When the machine displays "waste tank full / ink end" during cleaning, CR is left out as "cap-out" status.- Before the suction/ power flushing, if the error is already appeared, it will wait until all errors are cleared.
- During suction when the waste tank full / ink end occurs, it will do the air suction and wait as "cap-in" status until error is cleared.
- Malfunctioning keys
When the front cover is open/close and you "restart" the printer and the maintenance cover R is still opens/closes, the panel message remains "Maintenance cover R is open". No panel key works. This problem is now fixed.

In the "Effect mode" the following settings have a changed name
- Fine&Wave3 changed into Fine&Fuzz1
- Fine&Wave4 changed into Fine&Fuzz2
There are also two new features added:
- WOW1
- WOW2
The effect menu is now as follows:
2. Modified auto cleaning sequenc
New implementation ==> Set16: Auto cleaning
| Parameter | Range | Function |
Waiting time (cleaning during standby) | 0...360...1440 min | 0: no auto cleaning done <Value>: when <value> passed, the cleaning cycle selected in panel is done |
Printing time (cleaning during printing) | 0...5...180 min | 0: no auto cleaning done <Value>: when <Value> passed, the cleaning cycle selected in the panel is done. |
before print | [OFF] / [ON] | ON: cleaning cycle selected in panel is done before printing starts |
3. Modified "Media flush" setting range
New implementation ==> Set 3: Flushing
If the parameter is set to “on media”, a returncount parameter sets the frequency of returning to the flushing box during printing.
| Parameter | Range | Function |
| Returncount | -999 ... 5 ... 999 | -1: returns to flushing box every print head movement, no flushing on media. 0: No flushing done during printing 5: returns to flushing box every 5 print head movements, flushing on media. |
4. Heater control board
Sometimes, when a heater controller board is old, or by repeating the installation of heater firmware over and over again, the data delete process takes more time after the data transmission. The current time-out is set to 10 seconds. In some cases, it gives an installation failure. The time-out is changed to 30 seconds.
5. Lever up
When the lever is up, no more CR lock release is possible.
6. Control board
Added and changed the temperature table for the revised control board. (the control board will be revised soon) the rear sensor position setting appears. Currently the rear sensor is not functional. This setting is deleted.
7. Cover open / close
In case the head is shifted manually after opening the cover, the head would go back to the original position after closing the cover. When opening the cover again, the machine does not recognize that the cover is open, so that the head continues to move. This problem is now solved.
8. Roll end
The roll end is not detected at the feed processing of the media detection. This is now corrected.
9. Banner 4 mode
In banner 4 mode, variable dot is supported.
| Note Be aware that this setting only works when the slow carriage speed in diagnostics is set |
