TIB 804: Introduction of new UV lamp type and cursor for VJ-1638UH

In analogy with the inclined lamp type of the VJ-1638UR, the VJ-1638UH units will also be equipped with this type of lamp.

This revised set-up will be implemented as of serial number ID6U001001.

The previous VJ-1638UH lamp type, the DG-46905 is obsolete and is replaced by the same spare part as currently used on the VJ-1638UR, the DG-48687.

In order to be able to mount these lamps on a VJ-1638UH equipped with the first generation lamps, a new cursor and a corresponding bracket kit need to be installed.

Overview:

1. In case you need to change the UV LED lamp on a VJ-1638UH with serial number ID6U001000 or earlier following actions need to be taken (one time only):
   • Update the VJ-1638UH Firmware to 1.09 or higher and set the lamp type to “lamp B”
   • Install the new cursor: DG-49367
   • Install the V50 corresponding kit: DG-49369 (includes brackets and 2x UV LED lamps)
     • Please see attached separate sheets:

       • “UV lamp mounting position adjustment”
     • Tools needed to adjust the lamp:
       • DG-46924 (UV LED mounting height jig)
       • DG-49073 (UV lamp jig for slant adjustment)
       • DG-49074 (UV lamp jig for height adjustment)
     • Info: in case only the cursor needs to be replaced on such a unit (no lamps), then the existing model DG-49022 can still be ordered in limited quantities.
       
       
2. In case you need to change the UV LED lamp on a VJ-1638UH with serial number ID6U001001 or later, or on a VJ-1638UH with older serial number but that has already been upgraded (see point 1):
   • Replace the lamp DG-48687
     
     
3. In case “only the cursor” (no UV LED lamps) needs to be replaced on:
   • A VJ-1638UH with serial number ID6U001000 or earlier: The existing model DG-49022 can still be ordered in limited quantities.
   • A VJ-1638UH with serial number ID6U001001 or later, or on a VJ-1638UH with older serial number but that has already been upgraded earlier (see point 1): Use the new cursor type DG-49367.
     
     
4. Periodical maintenance kit:
   
   As a result of this change in configuration of the VJ-1638UH also the definition of the “periodical maintenance kit” for VJ-1638UH was changed.
   • First kit number: DG-47766 (includes a fixed wiper) : no longer available
   • Second kit number: DG-49368 (includes a new replaceable wiper and set of UV lamp filters for the new lamps) : no longer available
   • Third kit number: DH-40870 (same as second type , without dampers)
     
     
5. Spare UV-lamp filter set:
   
   In case the filters on these new lamps need to be replaced, then following part number is valid for a set of 2 filters: DG-48990 (same as for VJ-1638UR)
