Current version 1.10

Bug Fixes

  • After cancelling any online printing, the next layer printing will be printed with layers off.
  • If self-diagnosis mode is started while a cartridge that displays "Check ink" in user mode is still inserted in the printer, ink near-end information will be written to the corresponding cartridge.
Self-diagnosis now also supports "Check ink", and consumption will not be corrected even if the ink end flag is detected when consumption is below the threshold.

Installed Ver 1.10 Serial number:

Bug Fixes

  • When printing layers, the print position in the PF direction of each layer may be printed in an unintended position.
  • When printing data created with Fiery's RIP, missing dots and misaligned printing of specific colors occur
  • The circulation pump is driven during regular ink circulation, but the circulation pump's life counter is not updated correctly. It is counting at 1/20 of the actual life.

Bug Fixes

  • When the printer is started, the little charge stops at 99%.
  • When printing starts and when canceling printing, some characters may not be displayed and may be left justified.
  • A CPU error occurs when connecting to a PC with antivirus software (AVG AntiVirus) installed.
  • The threshold value was changed because "Check Ink" errors occur frequently when using a high ink pack adapter.
  • When the chip terminal short circuit occurs due to the misalignment of the card attachment position, the chip recovery may not function and an I/C error may occur. Fixed chip recovery to work even in such cases.
  • When waking up from sleep mode, the carriage remains stuck in the spitting position if the ink runs out during an ink sequence.
  • If printing is canceled while print data is being sent to the printer, the printer may freeze.
  • When printing settings in 6-color mode, the printing area is exceeded.
  • When printing a setup list in inches, the media length is miscalculated.
  • If the print data does not include height information, the print area is calculated to be approximately 10 mm shorter in length.
  • Even if you execute "Setup > Initialization > User Type ALL" or "Setup > Initialization > ALL", the User Type number display is not reset.
For example, if you initialize when Type 10 is selected, Type 1 is selected internally, but the panel display remains Type 10.
  • Ink consumption was not always written to the smart chip card.
  • When the number of overlaps was set to 2 or more in the effect "i-Weave UV", the dot count was incorrect.
  • The printer would freeze if there was insufficient memory for storing print data. A serious error has been added to prevent the printer from freezing.
  • The User Type number is changed using the remote panel. When the setting value in [Setup>User Type>TypeXX] on the main unit panel is checked, the setting value before changing the User Type number is displayed.
  • When "Check Color" is displayed when the power is turned on, "Ink End" will not be displayed even if the ink end sensor is detected.
  • The chip recovery function did not work when performing ink charge after ink discharged.

Changes

  • Turn on the error LED(Red) when display to "Color Check".
  • When there were multiple substatuses, the panel only showed the one with the highest priority.
Now all substatuses are displayed in turn to show everything.
  • When using a high capacity ink pack adapter and if the machine shakes while printing, the adapter will also shake, causing a writing error to the smart chip and printing to stop. As of now, the amount of ink used is not written to the smart chip while printing is in progress. It is written when printing is completed.
  • If ink is left in the waste ink bottle for a long time, components of the ink may settle and the waste ink may not be able to be discharged. A message has been added to drain the ink every 7 days even if the waste ink tank is not full.
  • If the ink bag is removed without removing the large-capacity pack adapter while stirring the ink, the ink end detection flag will react and the ink is out flag will be set.
Only when the printer is in standby mode and not consuming ink, if the ink pack is removed, "Check ink" will be displayed to prompt the user to check the cartridge status.

Bug Fixes

  • When the mini latch of the carriage lock is damaged and the carriage cannot be locked, the carriage continues to move left and right in the HOME position during the initial operation after power-on and the initial operation is not completed.
Now fixed so that "E158 CR Lock Error" is displayed when the initial operation fails.
  • After the plug of the high-capacity ink pack adapter reached the life time, the following sequence of operations was performed: cover open, adapter unplugged, and cover closed. It takes about 30 seconds before "[********] Change plug" appears on the display.
    It is now fixed.
  • When a communication error occurs (ex the network cable is disconnected or a packet is missing ) during data transfer using the FTP protocol, the connection cannot be re-established without rebooting the printer.
This has been fixed: the printer automatically starts a recovery action when it does not receive any signals for 5 minutes.
  • When printing a small area of 0.01sqm or less, the accumulated print are log is not updated.
  • The cleaning count was not initialized when the print head was replaced.
Now the cleaning count is initialized when the print head is replaced.

Changes

  • When using US11, color agitation cycle is changed from 72 hours to 48 hours.
  • Agitating messages are different from the manual and have been corrected.
    • Before: "Shake *** Ink"
    • After: "Agitate *** Ink"
  • "75%" added to panel menu "Settings"-"User"-"Low speed".
  • The control of the vacuum fan has been changed with the revision of the board. Install this FW for "OTY*****/Rev.D" or higher boards. No need to change settings by panel.
If an older FW is installed on a Rev. D board, the optional vacuum fan will not work.

Installed Ver 1.06 Serial number:

Bug Fixes

  • The printed positions of the white layer and the color layer were misaligned in the multi-layer printing mode.To improve this situation, an "Adjust Layer Print" menu has been added to the user type menu, allowing operators to adjust the printed positions by themselves. This menu is only available in a 6-color configuration. The adjustment method is mentioned in XPJ461UF*-A-04.pdf Operation Manual (p68-71).
  • An error in a panel message was fixed.
All the European languages had the English words of "Obst. Check Mode" and they are corrected as follows:
    English: Obst. Check Mode
    Dutch: Obst. Contr. St.
    Spanish: Mode com. Obst.
    French: Mode verif obst
    Italian: Modocomtr Ostac
    Portuguese: Modo verif obst
     German: Hind.-prufmodus
  • When ink becomes empty during printing, the carriage immediately stops. When printing starts again after replacing ink cartridge, there might be difference in level of ink surface before and after ink replacement.
To improve it, a carriage scan has been added to cure the ink when printing stops.

Installed Ver 1.05 Serial number: XPJ-461UF   JI3U000357~

  • Color mixing could occur after the start of printing. Before the start of printing, the amount of flushing was increased to prevent color mixing.
  • An faulty character "_" is displayed when requesting an activation code on the panel.
  • The "Alert Buzzer" setting from MSM is not reflected correctly until the printer is restarted.
  • If the "Alert Buzzer" setting is switched off while the buzzer is beeping due to the ink end , the buzzer cannot be stopped.
  • The Ink cartridge agitation warning does not disappear under certain circumstances - even when the required shaking has been performed (bug in 6 colors configuration).
  • Incorrect message: "Coverting" was displayed while receiving print data.
This has now been corrected and is displaying "Receiving".
  • Even if the alert buzzer was set to off, it was required to press a key to stop the buzzer when the "ink near end" or "ink end" conditions were met. This has now been fixed.
  • The origin cannot be set in the PF direction under the following conditions.
    1) 4-color, 2) 720x720dpi, 3) i-Weave UV, and 4) When the sum of the media length and the PF origin length exceeds the maximum print length.
    This has now been fixed.
  • The origin cannot be set at the first startup. This has been fixed.
  • When the cancel key is pressed just before the printhead is capped in, all keys become invalid except the main switch. This has now been fixed.
  • The print position may shift by 1/720 dpi in the multi layer printing with the following conditions: 1) when the sum of the media width and CR origin distance is larger than 483 mm, and 2) when the print mode changes for each layer.
