Necessary tools

In order to be able to install firmware, the following tools are required:

• Personal computer with MS Windows
• Network cable to connect the XpertJet wit the pc
• The latest MSA-tool (Mutoh Service Assistance)

Detailed instructions how to install the heater firmware, are described in the maintenance manual.

Important info

• The latest mainboard firmware on XpjertJet SR/WR series (2.00 or higher) is required
• The MSA tool detects the heater board type automatically, so mixing up F/W versions is impossible. When older type heater board is installed in the printer MSA tool allows you only to load F/W file with .mfl extension. When newer type heater board is installed in the printer MSA tool allows you only to load F/W file with .hfl extension
• If this heater firmware is used with older mainboard firmware versions, the heater might become out of control without any error message
• The heater firmware can only be installed with MSA 5.0.7.0 or higher.
