The FW version is attached as addendum in the bottom of this article.

Release date: 21 November 2025

1.07

* Make sure when updating to F/W Main Ver1.06 or higher to use MSA tool Ver.6.0.6 or higher.

Fixes:

  • Incorrect media cutting occurred under the following conditions:
    • Panel setting: Auto cut
    • Print data: Do not cut
    • Contour cut data: Cut not specified
Under these conditions, the correct operation is "Do not media cutting."
  • If cleaning is performed during sleep mode, system error E074 (CR2 overcurrent) may occur when cleaning is completed.
  • When Adjustment > Cut Scale is executed in the self-diagnosis mode, the contour cutting position may be shifted by 15 mm in the opposite direction from the home position.
  • In self-diagnosis mode, if the lever is moved up and down without media installed, the suction fan will start working even though there is no media.
  • During contour cutting at low speed, the cutter may unintentionally be raised and capped in, after which contour cutting will not resume.
  • Ink colors may not display correctly when using the Jig Panel.
  • The error threshold for "E077Err Platen Heat" was changed in the previous version, but since there was a possibility that an error would occur during normal use, the threshold was reviewed again.
  • When the lever is raised while the contour cut is paused and the job is canceled, printing does not start even if the print data is sent, or when the printer is paused, the first key operation does not work.
  • After processing contour cutting data for which a user type is specified, if print data for which a user type is not specified is printed, the data is printed using the print settings of the user type specified at the time of the previous contour cutting.
  • When printing data created with Fiery's RIP, missing dots and misaligned printing of specific colors occur.
  • When "Cut continuously after printing" is checked and printing and cutting is performed, and then the media is reset (lever up/down), and the contour cutting data is sent, the start operation is performed, but the printer immediately caps in and returns to the print standby state.
  • Although media cutting is disabled when media detection is off, media cutting was activated when contour cutting was performed under the following conditions:
    - When Output Mode was set to Auto Cut.
    - When contour cutting data specified media cutting.
  • After changing to media of a different width, printing may occur in an unintended position or the printer may freeze due to a failure to read crop marks.

Changes:

  • If "Cut Force" is not specified in "Cut Through" on the "Tool setting" button of the "Crop marks" tab on VerteLith, the Cut Force value will refer to the Cut Force (Contour Cutting Settings) set on the printer itself.
  • If there is no operation for 30 minutes, the lever will go into the up warning state and the buzzer will sound, but if the operation key is pressed to cancel the warning state, the warning buzzer will not sound even if the lever remains up.If the warning state is canceled by pressing the operation key but the lever remains up, the warning buzzer will sound again after 30 minutes.
  • When the pause operation was performed during contour cutting, the contour cutter waited on the media during the pause. To protect the print head, the print head is now moved to the cap position after the pause operation.
  • When the user type is specified in the PM command, the "Media End" setting is also referenced.

Added:

  • Cut & Print function: The "Cut & Print" operation must be specified in the data, so a RIP that supports generating "Cut & Print data" is required. This feature is available from VerteLith V8.9.0.
  • To make it possible to read crop marks on mirror-like, highly reflective media such as holographic media and gold media, a black-and-white inverted mark is added.
This can be used by specifying the inverted mark from VerteLith Ver8.8.2.

Installed Ver 1.07 Serial number:

XPJ-C641SR-P : KS1U001046~.

Release date: 11 August 2025

1.06

* Make sure when updating to F/W Main Ver1.06 or higher to use MSA tool Ver.6.0.5 or higher.

Fixes:

  • Even though the "Sheet-off feed" setting was enabled, the "Sheet-off feed" did not work after contour cutting.
  • The media may not be cut even if you press and hold the operation key for 1 to 2 minutes after printing.
  • When contour cutting, the second crop mark may fail to be read.
  • If a job is canceled by holding down the operation key during the cool down period, the printer will freeze.
  • Contour cutting is canceled from MSM during cool down, and the message "The operation failed. Please check the printer status. (-21)" is displayed and the cut cannot be canceled.
  • The following issues with contour cutting have been fixed:
    - The printer freezes when the media set handle is upped during cooldown.
    - If a job is canceled at the cap-out timing when contour cutting begins, the carriage freezes with the cap out.
    - If the roll media end during contour cutting, the next contour cutting job will not start even if it is sent.
    - If a job is canceled during cooldown before crop mark reading, the crop mark reading operation will be performed, even though it is unnecessary.
    - The pause cannot be released after the cover is opened and then closed while contour cutting is paused.
    - If the media set handle is raised while contour cutting is paused, a PF2 overcurrent occurs.
     - If the cover is opened and then the media set handle is upped during contour cutting, the printer freezes.
  • The heater is supposed to be turned off during contour cutting and resume control at the temperature set on the panel when it is finished, but the heater control does not resume when the media set handle is raised during contour cutting or when the contour cutting is forcibly terminated at the end of the roll paper.
  • When CR maintenance is performed with the media set handle up, if the operation key is pressed after the maintenance on the origin side is completed, the CR maintenance process ends without the carriage being capped in. (This is a problem only in Ver1.05)

Changes:

  • When cutting an arc line, it would hesitate in the middle of the arc. The size of the gentle curve buffer was expanded to prevent this.
  • If PG is High when performing Adjust Print(Auto) printing, the print quality is not clear and an error message is displayed and the process ends.
  • Even if the operation key is pressed and held during warm-up/cool-down waiting, the print job will not be canceled.
Changed so that a long press of the operation key can be recognized.
  • The warning sound for the media set handle up request was changed to an intermittent beep, as a single beep was not noticeable.
  • The following PM commands now function during contour cutting:
  • *MS (User Defined)
  • *SM (Side Margin)
  • *PS (Vacuum Fan)
  • *LY (Media Cut)
  • *RB (Return to Print Start Position)
  • Previously, once "Longstore" was executed, it was not possible to cancel it while it was in progress.
It can be canceled up until the cleaning cartridge is inserted.
  • The error threshold for "E077Err Platen Heat" has been changed to reflect the frequent occurrence of this error.
Before:If the temperature does not rise by 5.5C in 2 minutes
After:If the temperature does not rise by 2.0C in 2 minutes
  • When reading crop marks or cutting contours with Print & Cut, the black printed area may be mistakenly detected as the "media end."
When "Cut continuously after printing" is checked, the media end will be temporarily disabled during mark reading and contour cutting during Print & Cut operation.
  • Depending on the media sheet color, some media cannot be detected by the media rear sensor. "Media End: On/Off" menu has been added to "Media Type" - "Media Setting". If "Off" is selected, the media end will not be monitored by the media rear sensor.
  • Media rear and edge sensor adjustment can be performed from MSM.
And changed the target AD value for sensitivity adjustment of the rear edge sensor to accommodate the media normally used.

Installed Ver 1.06 Serial number:

 XPJ-C641SR-P : KS1U000389~

Release date: 09 May 2025

1.05

* Make sure when updating to F/W Main Ver1.05 or higher to use MSA tool Ver.6.0.5 or higher.

Fixes:

  • Fixed a problem in "Self diagnosis > Endurance > PF motor, Cleaning and General endurance.
  • Fixed a problem with the auto-cleaning process (timer)
  • Fixed an error in the menu display Self-diagnosis > Inspection > Sensor > Head Trans1/2
  • If a cool-down operation is cancelled for a contour cutting job that does not have crop marks and the contour cutting job is also cancelled, the cool-down for the next contour cutting job will be skipped.
  • If the contour cut data is clipped on the left side (opposite the home position), the side margin settings set on the panel are not respected and are fixed at 15mm.

Added:

  • Segmental cutting is supported
  • The origin setting function with MSM (9.0.4) is supported.

Release date: 18 February 2025

1.04

* Make sure when updating to F/W Main Ver1.04 or higher to use MSA tool Ver.6.0.4 or higher.

* This FW version is to be used in combination with MSM version 9.0.2

Fixes:

  • When printing from VerteLith and executing Print & Cut (Cut continuously after printing) with data that includes CutContour, if Media Cutting is enabled in the printer options, the media will be cut off after printing (before ContourCut).
  • When performing mechanical initialization in self-diagnosis mode, "Lever Up" was not displayed even though the media set lever was in the UP state.

Changes:

  • If the pinch roller position is incorrect, the pinch roller rubber may be damaged. The printer will now strictly check the position of the media and pinch roller with sensors. If the media or pinch roller position is incorrect, an error will be displayed. Please note that this change requires a range to check the pinch rollers, and the maximum print range will change from 600mm to 590mm.
  • If the S/C has a poor contact for some reason while the cartridge is already being inserted, the chip recovery function may activate and printing may be interrupted to check the color.
Except when the cartridge is being inserted, the color check for chip recovery is skipped to prevent the printing from being interrupted.
  • As a measure against S/C card errors of the large capacity adapter caused by shaking of the machine during printing, the ink usage amount is not written during printing (except when there is no ink) to the smart chip, but it is written when the printing has been completed.
(The previous version only supported the use of a high capacity ink pack adapter, but now the process is the same for all types of ink cartridges - see point 3 FW 1.03).
  • The accuracy of contour cutting by crop mark detection was not so good. The accuracy has been improved by changing the internal processing.
Due to this change, media orientation auto-detection will no longer work. However, it will be supported again in the next version.
  • "Self-diagnosis > Adjustment > Skew check" has been expanded in the direction of backfeed (negative).
Backfeed is in 0.1m increments up to -1.0m

Added:

  • When chip recovery was activated, "Check Color" could only be released using the printer's Operation Key.
Now it can also be released from within MSM.
  • Add the soak cleaning menu to User mode.
  • New servo system error code during contour cutting:
    - E174Err vPF OverLoad

- E175Err vCR OverLoad

This FW version 1.04 is pre-installed as of serial number KS1U000210 and higher

Release date: 16 January 2025

1.03

* Make sure when updating to F/W Main Ver1.00 or higher use MSA tool Ver.6.0.4 or higher.

* This FW version is to be used in combination with MSM version 9.0.1

1/ [Changed] If the heater cool-down operation at the start of the mark reading was canceled and the contour cutting operation was started immediately, it was necessary to perform the cancellation operation twice. Once when mark reading started and once when contour cutting started. It is now possible to perform the contour cutting operation with just one cancellation operation.

2/ [Changed] The side margin when printing the cut length correction pattern in self-diagnosis mode has been changed from 5 mm to 15 mm.

3/ [Changed] As a measure against S/C card errors of the large capacity adapter caused by shaking of the machine during printing, when using a high capacity ink pack adapter (when using a card of 500mL or more), the ink usage amount is not written during printing (except when there is no ink) to smart chip, but is written when printing is completed.

4/ [Changed] The upper limit of the input range for "Self-Diagnosis>Adjustment>CutCalib." has been extended to 4.00N.

5/ [Changed] The behavior of the CR maintenance function made it difficult to maintain the right side of the print head. By moving the carriage to the home side, maintenance of the right side of the print head became possible.

6/ [Changed] Changed the initial value of Bi-D adjustment to the average value of the machine.

7/ [Changed] During the initial cleaning and ink charging, a problem with the ink cartridge may cause an S/C read error, preventing the installation of the machine from being completed.

Chip recovery is now functional even during the initial cleaning and ink charging, preventing the installation of the machine from becoming stuck. ==> See TIB 870.

8/ [Added] A pinch roller position detection operation is added to the media detection sequence to determine the positional relationship between the edge of the media and the protrusions of the grit roller, and if the position is not the recommended position, a warning is displayed on the MSM.

9/ [Added] The following functions have been assigned to the operation keys on the panel.

* Double click: Nozzle check print

* Single click + long press: Normal cleaning

10/ [Added] A pinch roller position detection operation is added to the media detection sequence to determine the positional relationship between the edge of the media and the protrusions of the grit roller, and if the position is not the recommended position, a warning is displayed on the MSM.

11/ [Added] Heater temperature during warm-up/cool-down is displayed on MSM and VerteLith.

12/ [Added] The number of prints and cleaning times are recorded in the maintenance log, which can be viewed as the maintenance log.

13/ [Fixed] When the power switch was pressed to turn on the power, the green and red LEDs on the panel did not light up.

14/ [Fixed] If the lever was up but the machine was not operated for 30 minutes, a warning was displayed to up the lever

15/ [Fixed] Auto-cleaning can now be performed even while the lever is up.

16/ [Fixed] When contour cutting data with mark reading enabled is sent, and if for some reason the mark reading fails, if cutting data without mark reading is sent after that without reloading the media, the machine will malfunction or a system error will occur.

17/ [Fixed] "E076 Pre heater error" may occur during warm-up.
